Pat Hagerty is a native of St. Louis. He completed his undergraduate studies at Quincy College in 1981. He received his law degree in 1985 from Saint Louis University School of Law, and served as an editor of the Saint Louis University Law Journal.

Mr. Hagerty is licensed to practice in Missouri and Illinois, and in federal district courts and courts of appeal in Missouri, Illinois, Michigan, Arkansas and the Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Circuits.

He is a member of the Academy of Rail Labor Attorneys. He serves on the Board of Governors of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA) and is Chair of its Committee on Legislative Issues-Venue. Mr. Hagerty also serves as a member of the Constitutional Review Committee for MATA. He is an active member in the Railroad Law section of the American Association for Justice. He is a member of Trial Lawyers Care, Inc., a group of lawyer volunteers willing to provide free, quality legal representation to victims seeking compensation under the September 11 Victim Compensation Fund.

Mr. Hagerty has served as a board member for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in St. Louis. He is a former board  member in the International Society of Primerus law firms, which is dedicated to advancing civility, integrity and professionalism in the practice of law.

In addition to representing clients in Medical Negligence and Products Liability cases, Mr. Hagerty represents injured railroad workers throughout the Midwest. In this capacity he has spoken at several national conventions held by railroads and their unions. He has tried numerous cases under the federal laws applicable to the railroad industry.

Mr. Hagerty has been admitted as a Fellow of the International Society of Barristers and is an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America ® for Personal Injury Litigation, and among the "Best Lawyers in St. Louis" in St. Louis Magazine. He has an AV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the highest given. Mr. Hagerty has been annually selected to Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers [among the top 5 percent of lawyers in Missouri and Kansas] since 2006, in the area of Transportation and Maritime Litigation.
