Cole Obtains $240,000 Settlement for Carpenter Seriously Injured on the Job

Morry ColeGray Ritter Graham attorney Morry Cole obtained a $240,000 settlement for a St. Charles carpenter who was seriously injured while helping to pump concrete into the foundation of a new home. The man was knocked unconscious and suffered a dislocated shoulder and broken collarbone – requiring surgery - after falling from a 10-foot high basement wall. While pouring the concrete, air was allowed to enter a concrete pump, which caused the hose he was holding to jerk violently, shaking him off the boom. Cole claimed that the truck and the pump operators were negligent in not warning his client about the air entering the system. The settlement was obtained from the company operating the concrete mixing truck and from the company operating the pump truck.
