Morry Cole Resolves Airplane Crash Case

A twin engine turboprop aircraft landed “hot” at a small uncontrolled Missouri airport. Due to a fast and unstabilized approach to the airport, the pilot landed the airplane too fast and too far down the runway to get stopped by the end. As a result, the plane overran the runway and crashed into a corn field. The aircraft suffered extensive damage to its landing gear, engines, propellers, and empennage. A passenger on the aircraft was injured. Cole represented the passenger in a negligence suit arising from allegations of pilot error. A mutually agreeable settlement was reached.
