On July 5, 2017, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, in St. Louis, affirmed a $32 million consumer fraud class action settlement for Missouri consumers and those in other states who purchased certain types of Blue Buffalo cat and dog food.  Gray Ritter Graham attorney Don Downing represented the Missouri consumers in the litigation.  The plaintiffs alleged that the Blue Buffalo pet food included poultry byproducts although the company misleadingly touted them as “all natural,” containing no such fillers. Per settlement terms, consumers with receipts for their Blue Buffalo purchases between May 2008 and December 2015 are eligible to receive up to $200.  All class members who filed claims will receive at least 100 percent of their claim amount.
