Representation For Injuries Caused By Dangerous Prescription Drugs

Not every patient has the same reactions to the same drug. However, drug companies are responsible for testing the drugs they put on the market and for warning doctors and their patients about possible side effects. When drug companies fail to take these steps and the dangerous drugs cause injury or death, an experienced GRG lawyer can advise you of your rights.

Pharmaceutical Product Liability Attorneys

Lawsuits against drug companies require experienced attorneys, expert witnesses and extensive financial resources. Because Gray, Ritter & Graham in St. Louis meets those requirements, we have been appointed lead counsel in multi-district litigation (MDL) pharmaceutical cases.

Because many patients are sometimes affected by the same dangerous drug, it is more efficient to try the cases in the same courtroom and in front of the same judge. The cases are tried separately, however, because the patients are injured in different ways. This procedure, called multi-district litigation, takes place in federal courts and is similar in many ways to a class action.Thousands of lawsuits have been brought against common medications including:

  • Vioxx, a pain killer
  • Levaquin, an antibiotic used with steroid treatments
  • Yaz and Yasmin, birth control drugs
  • Phentolamine, a hypertension medication
  • Gadolinium, a dye used in MRI and MRA exams
  • Reglan, an anti-nausea drug used in pregnancy
  • Celexa/Lexapro, medications frequently used in the treatment of depression and anxiety
  • Avandia, a diabetes medication

DMMA ALLEGEDLY RESPONSIBLE FOR CATASTROPHIC HARM

DMMA is an ingredient that is popular in dietary supplements and energy drinks. The ingredient, also known as 1,3-dimethlamylamine, has been labeled as extremely dangerous and linked to several deaths by the Food and Drug Administration.

According to the FDA, dangers from DMMA include:

  • Arrhythmia
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart palpitations
  • Shortness of breath
  • Heart attack

The FDA has asked product manufacturers and retailers of products with DMMA to take them off the market. Most have complied, but not all. For more information, read our blog “DMMA: Dangerous Product Responsible for Catastrophic Harm?
